“ReBoot”: Normalizing Gut Microbiome-Brain-communication in Anorexia using Fecal Matter Transplants

Postdoc
University of Copenhagen

Kenneth Barfod, postdoc, Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, University of Copenhagen, has been awarded a Lundbeck Foundation LF Experiments research grant worth DKK 1,999,968.

The aim of his project is to investigate potential correlations between anorexia and the composition of gut flora. Faecal samples will be taken from patients admitted to hospital for anorexia and then analysed. The patients have given their consent to participate while they are on a weight-gain diet. The results of the study will later be tested in animal trials.
