The opportunity to establish your own research group at a Danish hospital or university, and five years to work focused on a biomedical science project – this is what awaits junior researchers if they are awarded an LF Fellowship worth DKK 10 million to be paid out over a period of five years.

‘The programme is also open to scientists from abroad looking to establish their own team of researchers in Denmark, and LF Fellowships are traditionally very popular. This year is no different, as we award them for the 16th time,’ explains Line V. Kristensen, scientific project manager at Lundbeck Foundation.

This year’s fellows – seven in all – have now been selected. Four of the projects relate to neuroscience research, two focus on cancer research, and one deals with chronic kidney disease.

The projects are all very exciting, and the 2022 pool of applicants was yet again full of tremendous talent, according to Line V. Kristensen:

‘There is good reason to feel proud that so many talented young scientists want to establish a career here in Denmark. It is a tribute to the strength of biomedical science research in Denmark.’
