We grant a minimum of DKK 500 million each year to Danish public research
Our grants go primarily to biomedical and health science research – both basic and clinical applied research as well as epidemiological research – focusing mainly on the brain.

Frontier GrantsOver the next 18 months, a DKK 5 million Frontier Grant from the Lundbeck Foundation will fuel Anette Sams’ long-standing dream of developing a life-saving drug. The Danish scientist and author hopes her discovery will revolutionise the treatment of heart attacks.

Scientific Enrichment Prize 2023Her work testifies to the importance of different perspectives, methods, disciplines and personalities in the quest for scientific breakthroughs. The Professor has now been awarded the Lundbeck Foundation’s diversity award – the LF Scientific Enrichment Prize 2023.

The Brain Prize 2023Three top international researchers, Professors Christine Holt (UK), Erin Schuman (Germany/USA) and Michael Greenberg (USA), were presented with The Brain Prize 2023 by HRH The Crown Prince at a ceremony in Copenhagen.
What we have funded
In 2022, the Lundbeck Foundation allocated a total of DKK 550 million to biomedical sciences research, spread across 151 grants. This was equivalent to the salaries of 650 full-time researchers in Denmark.
