Developing and maintain a diverse culture in a rapidly changing research section

Center Coordinator
Technical University of Denmark

Like most other modern research groups at Danish universities, the IDUN research section is characterized by a highly international staff where there is a relatively large exchange in employees over short timespans. Consequently, IDUN is a diverse and dynamic research section that constantly needs to adapt to new constellations of people, including their areas of expertise, cultural backgrounds, experiences, habits and perceptions.

At IDUN, we thrive working in a fast-paced international environment and considering diversity as a strength. We want to improve our capacity to use it as a competitive advantage within research.

With this project, IDUN have the opportunity to investigate how we can continue to embrace diversity, improve our cultural intelligence and make sure that we continuously create great scientists and excellent science.

Activities in the project include analysis of the level of cultural intelligence in IDUN (as a group and individually), training in communication, including giving and receiving feedback, conflict management, as well as development and implementation of habits and activities that promote a safe and inspiring working environment.
