Quantum Simulation of Molecular Dynamics on a Nanophotonic Chip

Sofie Lindskov Hansen, postdoc, Quantum Optics, Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, has been awarded a Lundbeck Foundation LF Experiments research grant worth DKK 1,514,541.

The aim of her project is to produce a chip that can simulate the dynamic patterns of water molecules at quantum level. This will form a basis for similar simulations of more complex molecules, which will enable performance of the type of neuroscience study that classical computers do not have the power to complete. The simulations will also be useful in connection with drug design.
