In 2021, the Lundbeck Foundation will support seven researchers with a fellowship.

A grant of DKK 10 million to set up your own research group at a Danish university or university hospital – and five years to work in peace and truly focus on a biomedical science project.

This is basically what you get if you are awarded a Lundbeck Foundation Fellowship, which is also open to researchers from abroad.

The Fellowship grants, totalling DKK 70 million in 2021, are intended to stimulate and develop particularly talented young scientists researching in biomedical sciences – in neuroscience, for instance, which is the Lundbeck Foundation’s special focus area.

This year’s Fellows – seven in all – were recently selected, and there was significant interest in being considered for the honour. Lars Torup, Scientific Programme Director at the Lundbeck Foundation explains:

‘We’re awarding our Fellowships for the fifteenth time, and we’ve never received as many applications as we did this year – what’s more, they proved that there’s a gigantic pool of talent out there. This is good news, and that fact that Denmark is able to attract and develop so many talented young scientists underlines the strong position of Danish biomedical sciences research.’
